A Rainbow of Thanks

Welcome, Friends!

Thanks for stopping by today for another card that features the new Wild and Wonderful Release from Catherine Pooler Designs. If you still haven't checked out the release, you can find all the products here.

For some reason, every time I create with my Catherine Pooler products, I'm always inspired to do rainbows and really vibrantly colorful projects.

Today is no exception!

I used the Kaleidoscope Background stamp and the Carnivale Ink collection to make this lil' beauty. In case you didn't know this, the Catherine Pooler inks blend SO WELL! I love that these inks take all the frustration out of ink blending. It's a joy to create with products that make creating effortless!

I cut a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card panel, masked off the bottom portion of the card with post it note tape, inked up the background stamp with Versamark ink, and then laid my cardstock panel on top of the stamp to apply the ink. I was careful not to shift the paper! I applied my white embossing powder and then heat set it.

Now it's time for the fun part!

I used an ink blending tool to apply the inks on to my card panel, watching the embossing portion resist the ink. I used a cloth to buff off the excess ink. I kept the post it note tape on the panel this entire time, knowing that I wanted to stamp my sentiment on the bottom portion of the card.

I used a sentiment from the Note of Thanks set and Midnight ink to stamp the finishing touches and then reveled in the rainbow beauty!

Thanks again for stopping by today, and happy crafting!

A Colorful Thanks + Sentiment Background + Catherine Pooler Release

Hey There!

Thanks for wandering over to my blog today!

I'm still crushing on this new Wild and Wonderful Release from Catherine Pooler Designs. There are some really beautiful stamp sets in the release as well as TWO NEW INKS, so what's not to love about that?!

You can find the entire release here. The Wonderful Wildflowers set is my favorite!

Today I'm sharing a simple card that carries a huge punch. The Note of Thanks stamp set has some great sentiments in it and is one of the most well-designed "thank you" sets I've seen in a while.

I cut down a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card panel from watercolor paper  and taped it down to a hard surface. Since I planned to apply watercolor, I taped the paper down so that it would lay flat and take the water better.

I then pulled out my Gansai Tambi watercolors and laid a rainbow wash of colors down on my card panel. After I heat set that card panel, I applied some baby powder all over the panel since I knew I wanted to emboss and didn't want the powder to stick to the panel.

After I prepped the card panel with baby powder, I laid it in my MISTI and arranged my stamps all across the panel. I stamped them with Versamark ink, and then applied white embossing powder before heat setting it.

I had a few gaps in my panel, so I placed some stamps in the open areas again and repeated the embossing process until my panel was full.

After the panel was complete, I adhered it to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base to finish off my project.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Wild and Wonderful Release Blog Hop

Hey Stampers!

Welcome back to my blog for Day 2 of the Wild and Wonderful release blog hop!

I think my favorite part of this new release are the delicious new ink colors. I feel like these two colors really rounded out some of the rainbow color scheme palettes. When you include Be Mine and All That Jazz--it's a beautiful combination, y'all!!

You can drool over the entire release here.

Let's get to the cards!

The first card incorporates the new ink colors that you'll want to start blending IMMEDIATELY when you receive them! You can use one of the new background stamps and the new ink colors (along with some classics already released) for some awesome emboss resist effects, which I used on this card before trimming that piece down slightly and gluing it on to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base. I also used a black marker to color the edges of the card base to make it look like it was black cardstock. I also incorporated some of the floral images and sentiments from the Focus on the Good stamp and die set.
I shaded those florals with shades of cool gray copic markers and also stamped the sentiment on to a smaller die cut panel. I mounted the smaller sentiment panel with a piece of craft foam and then tucked some of the images underneath the panel and then adhered some to the top as well. Breaking up the images this way helped tie it all together and give visual interest to the card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps and coordinating dies: Focus on the Good, BFF Background
Other Dies: Postage Stamp (January Stamp of Approval Release)
Inks: Party Dress, Limoncello, All That Jazz, Grape Crush
Miscellaneous: Cool Gray Copic Markers, Memento Tuxedo Black Dye ink, Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder, Tombow Dual Brush Pen in Black

My next card was a little bit out of my comfort zone to make, but I was excited to see how it turned out!
I stamped out some of the images from the Wonderful Wildflowers stamp set and then used the matching dies to cut them out. These images are so fun to color and you can use any coloring medium to get great results! I chose my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

I cut and scored a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base from the Sand Dunes cardstock collection. I then tore up some pieces of patterned paper from the Black Tie Gala patterned paper collection and glued them on to a piece of vellum cardstock. I pulled up the edges just to make them pop off the card a bit more.

I then glued my floral images on to the card, arranging them in a bouquet fashion. Some I mounted with foam tape and others I glued flat to the card.
I then stamped a sentiment on to a white cardstock strip and glued it on to the card to finish things off.

Supplies Used:
Stamps and Coordinating Dies: Wonderful Wildflowers
Miscellaneous: Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
